After Expo 2015, the real Supermarket of the Future
A little over a year after the “Future Food District” the supermarket of the future is a reality and opened in Milan, at the Bicocca Village. The lighting project, comes from the cooperation between the office design of Coop (Inres), and Imoon.
The new supermarket of the future, 1,000 square meters, remembers the Expo Milano 2015 experience, using the same interactive technology. Over 6,000 products with increased labels – indicating the characteristics of the product – are consulted through 54 touch monitor placed on display counters and 46 multimedia totems, placed along the aisles, that support the customer throughout the shopping.
Imoon used the new version of projector Venere Pro P: the luminaire has a new technical shape, in keeping with the elegant style of the supermarket. The painting of projectors and electrified tracks (RAL 7006), is identical to that of the metallic ceiling, allowing to break down from the perceptual point of view, the presence of the devices in favor of the single use of the light.
The display cases we used a narrow beam reflector to highlight the goods while minimizing the light in passageways. In the lanes, it was used instead parable edge, equipped with a light emission rectangular, that allows to direct the light only on by exposure zones while maintaining the luminous uniformity and reducing the number of necessary luminaires.
Light plays an essential role in setting up the atmosphere, creating different modulations that enhance each kind of display accordingly. The entire supermarket is illuminated only with led projectors (with a wide variety of beam angles suiting each application) that perfectly enhance the shelving in the main sales area and the fresh food displays, creating an attractive contrast with the passageways. On the the display cases a narrow beam reflector highlights the goods minimizing the light in passageways; in the sales area, the Edge reflector, with a rectangular-shaped light distribution, to direct the light only on by exposure zones while maintaining the luminous uniformity and reducing the number of necessary luminaires. A further added value is given by the DALI protocol with which you can create customized scenarios and effects generating, in addition to the desired lighting, a greater energy saving.
Throughout the store the color temperature is 3500 K for a warm atmosphere extended to the near space called “Fiorfood Cibo & Incontri”, designed to welcome customers and dedicated to the restaurants and more.
