Sobeys, one of Canada’s two leading grocery retailers nationwide, is having its Orangeville Store in Ontario renovated by Interstore | Schweitzer with the help of Imoon as its trusted partner for the lighting of the entire retail space. It will be a pilot store for an innovative food market concept, placing assisted service departments along the perimeter in favour of an unparalleled customer flow. Imoon‘s lighting project here was specifically designed to accompany buyers on their shopping journey, involving them in a unique and exclusive shopping experience.
An exemplary application of the versatility of Imoon solutions is the fruit and vegetable section, where two different configurations coexist in perfect harmony: lighting fixtures equipped with Full Colour LEDs, which accentuate shapes and colours to best enhance the freshness of seasonal products and spotlights that give back a warm white light. These latter are also intended for the bakery, pastry and wine sections. Another new element is applied to the meat and fish sections: the innovative Meat Fish HD LED, chosen to enhance the natural colours and favour a correct perception of the white and red contrasts of the meat and fish on display.
The furnishings and its materials are also showcased at their best: the special SPARK LED enhances the brilliance of the white walls and the Beauty section, giving a perception of hygiene and cleanliness. For the wooden panels on top of the fruit and vegetable section, the choice was made for solutions that could give intensity to the warm tones, providing a general feeling of relaxation and well-being.
In addition, Imoon has introduced accent lighting for the aisles with a system of track projectors. These ensure maximum flexibility in the number, orientation and interchangeability of accessories for fine tuning on site. Also of interest is the height of the installation at 4.70m, designed to guarantee the Consumer a global vision, allowing easy identification of the signs, illuminated on the front and back, of the various product categories.
Finally, the solutions used in the Orangeville store’s restyling make it possible to reduce energy consumption considerably compared to the lighting systems traditionally used by Sobeys.
